The Journey of JEE Physics Book with Dr SK Jahiruddin
I was created with a purpose—to help JEE aspirants master Physics problem-solving skills. My journey started slowly, but things changed when Dr. SK Jahiruddin, a passionate Physics professor, believed in me.
Dr. SK Jahiruddin, an IIT Bombay alumnus and Professor of Physics in Kolkata, has dedicated his life to helping students achieve conceptual clarity. His detailed reviews, insightful analysis, and valuable recommendations helped shape me into a more effective book.
One of my most defining moments was when Dr. Jahiruddin wrote a review on Amazon. He called me a paragon of excellence in JEE Physics literature, praising my structured approach, depth of solutions, and conceptual accuracy. His words carried weight, inspiring thousands of students to trust me as their go-to JEE Physics book.
Dr. Jahiruddin didn’t stop at just reviewing me—he actively helped improve my content. His suggestions shaped my evolution, making me more structured and comprehensive.
His three major suggestions were:
- Three types of problems – Fully solved problems, Hints-only exercises, and Answer-key-only exercises. This progressive approach helps students transition from guided learning to independent problem-solving. His suggestions led to the creation of the "Exercise (Challenge)" section, now a core part of my structure.
- Incorporating non-PYQ exercises – He insisted that I should include great Physics problems from sources like Irodov, Kleppner, Morin, Griffiths, and Hecht. These challenging problems help students master higher-level Physics concepts, making me more than just a PYQ collection. That's why I am now called PYQ+, where the "+" sign represents these additional high-level problems.
- Balancing difficulty and book size – He suggested that my number of problems should be optimized—enough to challenge students but not overload them. His advice ensured an optimal book length, keeping me comprehensive yet manageable.
Thanks to Dr. Jahiruddin’s influence, I have reached thousands of students, especially in West Bengal, where his impact is strongest. Many students from the region discovered and trusted me—a growth I can’t explain, but one that Dr. Jahiruddin surely influenced.
